Mermaid Dress "OLD HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR RE-INVENTED"

When i had to attend a Black Formal Gown Event, as usual i like to stand out from the crowd. So i opted for this "Old Hollywood" style icon, the classic mermaid gown. An iconic silhouette,  mermaid style gowns can make any woman feel movie star glam!A  Jayne Mansfield signature look  and favorite of  many other actresses in the 1950s,  these gowns  have a figure flattering, curve hugging fit  to the knee, with a full flared hem below. My gown was however not your traditional mermaid gown. It features a sweetheart bodice to show off the decolletage  with a tulle sheer lace detail, which gives the look of a romper and gown in one. With just the right mix of sexy and feminine , this style can flaunt the curves you have or even create the illusion that you do, even  if you don’t!

This  timeless look is  perfect for a vintage themed wedding or prom because it really captures that classic glamour vibe that will make you stand out from the crowd.  And don’t forget the opera length gloves and red lipstick!

A Mermaid dress is a long gown that fits snug to the body until the bottom of the legs, where it flares out like a fish tail. For this reason, a mermaid gown is also called a Fishtail Dress. Since mermaid dresses are always long, they tend to be made in styles suitable for proms, weddings, and formal evening wear.

Tall, thin figure types are best suited to the mermaid style. This style fits close to the body and accentuates the waist and hips, so it's not recommended for fuller figures. Since the mermaid dress is fitted at the waist and flares out at the leg, it adds the look of curves to lean and athletic body types.

Although many mermaid dress styles are strapless, some have short, puffed sleeves or are long sleeved. Strapless mermaid wedding dresses may come with a close fitting, short, tight, long sleeved lace jacket called a shrug. Since the mermaid style is so dramatic and glamorous, the accessories worn with it should be also. For example, a fine chain necklace isn't going to add the impact needed with this dress style; bolder necklaces such as elegant pearls would be a better choice. So i completed my look with a gold statement necklace, gold with black stones drop earrings, gold cuff bracelet. Although the shoes were hidden, you want to go for comfort, because mermaid dresses are a bit tricky to walk in. I wore black strappy heels.

IT'S A ROSE GOLD B"DAY FOR ME "Rose Gold Sequin Tulle Maxi Gown"

Rose Gold is currently right on trend and        a chic addition to your wardrobe.

For my Birthday dinner i wanted to Slay and stand out in this flawless tulle maxi Rose Gold Gown, accented with a branch sequin design along the top and bottom. Features a sultry plunge neckline with a padded bust and adjustable spaghetti straps. Form hugging along the top with a slightly flared bottom. Partially lined with a thin back zipper closure. Worn with rhinestones detail necklace, leather and Rose Gold cuff bracelet, matching heels and clutch.

Rose gold also known as pink gold, red gold or blush gold is a gold alloy made from a combination of gold and copper. It has, as its name suggests, a warm, pink hue. Depending on the ratio of gold to copper, the color of rose gold jewelry can range from orange-yellow to dusky pink to red-orange. The rose gold you’re seeing on the fashion runways and on celebrities is primarily of the pink variety. While rose gold  is enjoying the spotlight in the fashion world today, its versatile good looks have stood the test of time. Rose gold was popular with royalty in Russia in the 1800s and then saw resurgence in the U.S. in the 1920s.

                          Warm and hot

The color of rose gold is elegant, timeless and warm. It’s pretty and it’s different, giving you a new color option to express your style. That’s why today you’ll see not only rose gold jewelry adorning the arms, necks and fingers of fashion icons, but also rose gold-colored accents popping up on clothing, accessories and shoes. To allow rose gold to really make an outfit, opt for neutral clothing colors, such as white, beige and pastels.

                     Plays well with others

Mixing rose gold with white and yellow gold has been popular since a now-iconic ring was introduced by a famous jewelry house in the 1920s. Today, rose gold looks beautiful as part of a mixed-metal ensemble of multiple necklaces or stacked bangles or rings. The warm hues of rose gold beautifully showcase diamonds or other gemstones in the brown, orange, yellow and red color families.

                          Feels romantic

More couples are selecting rose gold as their metal of choice for engagement rings and wedding bands to give their wedding jewelry a distinctive touch. While rose gold can give jewelry a retro feel, the metal also works well for both classic and modern designs.Rose gold is also becoming a new classic. Its versatile color makes it a smart addition to a woman’s wardrobe from jewelry, accessories and clothing providing more options for mixing and matching new looks on trend with today’s styles.

MONOCHROME

Monochrome outfits  are the to go style for any occasion. They have often been shunned in favor of something bright, bold and statement. But when styled just right, monochrome is by far the chicest  and easiest  color combination to pull off.
The key to nailing this look is tracking down some key pieces, and working them from head-to-toe.  Simplicity is important when opting for block color, with loose, fluid shapes that compliments you body type. Play with some texture  like  crepe, silks, leather and you’ve got yourself a winning look. Once you’ve collected enough monochrome clothing, you can switch things up and work the trend into every area of your wardrobe.

Here i opted for a monochrome romper by BCBG for a fashion event, the look is chic and effortless. Paired with gold embellish heels and belt.

Black and white is timeless and i love rompers that are edgy, chic and unique.

Make your outfit stand out by accessorizing, accessorizing. See how by adding a detail belt has elevated my outfit in a second. The right accessory can play a major role in transforming your outfit from Blah! to Glam!

The Importance of Accessories in the Fashion World can never be under estimated.

Without a doubt, accessories are always going to play an important part in the world of fashion, offering the ideal way to express your personality and individuality. Accessories come in a number of different forms and types, from a chunky bracelet, oversized sunglasses, bag, shoes . It is these endless possibilities that make women so obsessed with accessories and never able to get enough of these items.

PATCH TREND

You probably remember this trend from the 90s and it’s a fun and fashionable way to relive your childhood. Patches are a quirky addition to any outfit which enable you to express your personality through your clothing.Embroidering patches on to your clothes is a way to create unique wardrobe pieces, for a look that truly sets you apart from the crowd But it’s also important not to go over the top with this trend; keep the rest of your outfit simple to avoid clashes.

PATCH SHIRT DRESS- Here i rocked a casual patch shirt dress, the traditional style was a favorite of fashion icons, like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly, and can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Plus, it can be layered over a pair of pants or turtleneck to transition from season to season. The patches added a playfull twist to this effortless look and completed my look with a bootie which gave the overall look a edgier feel.

The new addition to my purse family very trendy cross body bag with  very detail fashion artwork is definitely one of my new fav. It can definitely add a little chicness to any outfit.

STATEMENT PURSE

What is it about an item that makes it a statement piece?
I think of statement pieces as interesting, attractive and relatively eye-catching wardrobe items that reflect your personality. They are usually quite bold and unique, but not necessarily brightly colored and oversize. They are often, but not always, the thing people notice first about your outfit. Sometimes they become items that people associate with your signature style. For me personally, the first statement pieces that come to mind are accessories: my jewelry, my shoes and my handbags. All of my statement pieces make me confident and happy with my outfit. Are statement pieces a personal inner thought, or an overt statement to the rest of the world? I think a true statement piece has elements of both. My philosophy is that style is about creating a positively reinforcing feedback loop between the way we feel and the way we look. It connects our inner thoughts and feelings to the story we tell to the rest of the world. Statement pieces are like the headlines in this story.

A statement bag can transform an outfit. It can take your ensemble from zero to ten with one shoulder toss. It shows style, sophistication, and can literally act as a shield against the world. Heck, Coco Chanel invented the inside pocket in her purses for “women’s secrets” and the shoulder strap because “I was fed up holding purses in my hands and losing them so I added a strap and carried them over my shoulder.”
Not only does your bag enclose the contents of what you need to get through the day, but it also shows you are serious about how you are presenting yourself, that you know your brands, and that you are worth that bag
.

If you're going to drop serious cash on a new wardrobe staple, chances are it's going to be on a special accessory, like a killer bag. It's something that you'll use over and over again, as opposed to a quick-hit fashion item you might only wear a handful of times (and inevitably ends up in the black hole that is the bottom of your closet). Okay, before you roll your eyes at the idea of spending a significant chunk of change on any item, just remember the cost-per-wear trick.

Until next time fashionistas xoxo "ORSHAFASH"

HOW TO COMPLIMENT YOUR OUTFIT WITH THE RIGHT SHOES

How to Complement Your Outfit with the Right Shoes

Stilettos, sandals, boots, kitten heels, ballet flats—women have an amazing variety of footwear to play with and fawn over. With so many options, however, it can be difficult to figure out which shoes compliment your outfit best. When determining the perfect shoe choice to complete your next ensemble, start by examining the color and style of your outfit. Also consider the setting you will be wearing your new look in, since some shoes can dress an outfit up while others can tone it down.

COLOR GUIDE TO PERFECT YOUR OUTFIT

1
Stay neutral. Some neutral tone outfits look appropriate when matched with neutral tone shoes. For instance, a little black dress can look stunning with the right pair of black heels. If you plan on wearing the same color from head to toe, however, you should be prepared to accessorize with jewelry that adds a bit of color or sparkle to your outfit to avoid looking too drab.

2
Make a bland outfit pop with a bright shoe color. Sometimes, too many neutral tones can make an outfit look dull. A bright shoe is a quick way to remedy the situation. Try a bright red pump with a white blouse and black pencil skirt, or a spring green pump with brown slacks and a beige top.

3
Tone down a bright outfit with a neutral shoe. If your clothes are already loud enough to do the talking, avoid shoes that will compete for attention. The next time you slip on a royal blue sundress, match it with a pair of white sandals instead of going for more blue.

4
When in doubt, go nude. More accurately, go with a nude colored shoe. A nude shoe is a neutral because it blends into your skin tone. Because it mimics the tone of your skin, it is also relatively easy to pair with other neutrals and colors.

5
Mix shades. If you like the monochromatic look, you can still pull it off as long as the shades vary from one another. Try wearing a rose-colored pump the next time you wear a light pink t-shirt and jeans, or a chocolate brown boot with a light brown sweater dress.

6
Match your shoes with an understated color already found in your outfit. If you have a top, bottom, or dress with a pattern on it, pick one color from the pattern and find shoes that match. For instance, if you have a skirt with a geometric pattern that includes navy, sky blue, and teal, try wearing it with a teal flat or a navy wedge heel.

                              STYLE CHECK-SHOE GUIDE

1
Wear sleek shoes with light outfits.Stick with sandals, pumps, and thin heels the next time you wear a breezy sundress or venture out in a sleeveless blouse and capri pants. Heavy shoes, like boots and platform heels, often look clunky and out of proportion when paired with lighter fabrics and airy styles.

2
Stick with heavier shoes for heavy materials. Slip on a pair of boots or a thick heel with your warm winter sweaters and tweed jackets. If both the material and structure of a garment look heavy, a thick, solid shoe will compliment that garment better than a notably thin, tiny shoe would.

3
Slip on a decorative shoe to spice up a simple outfit. Shoes come with a variety of textures, patterns, and embellishments. A quick way to add a little visual interest to a plain outfit is by finding a shoe with a little extra pizzazz to act as a focal point. A leopard print flat can add a wild twist to a plain jeans and tank top combination, and a wedge heel with a ruffled front can give an air of playfulness to a simple sundress.

4
Tone down a wild outfit by sticking with a simple shoe. If your outfit already includes a busy pattern, like polka dots or paisley print, do not wear shoes that will compete with it. Instead, opt for a shoe in a solid color and gravitate toward styles without extra embellishments.

5
Resist the temptation to over-match your accessories. A little matching looks coordinated and well put together, but too much can quickly become overkill. For example, a blue pump coordinates nicely with a blue purse, but you should resist the urge to add on a blue belt, heavy blue jewelry, and a blue hat. Similarly, you can wear rose post earrings if your shoes have a rose embellishment on them, but you may want to think twice about adding a purse, hat, and large ring with the same rose decoration.

.

6
Know where to draw the line between sexy and trashy. If your outfit already shows a considerable amount of skin, you may want to tone the shoe down and opt for something moderately sultry instead of something overtly so. You might be pushing it if you wear three-inch strappy stilettos with a strapless mini-dress, but the same mini-dress can look appropriately sexy with a half-inch peep-toe.

                                     KNOW YOUR SETTING

1
Keep an eye on your calendar. Most footwear can be worn throughout the year, but some shoes are tied down to specific seasons.
Boots are worn best in fall and winter, with some crossover into spring. They do not work well for summer, however.

Sandals look best during the spring and summer. You may be able to get away with wearing them during a warm early autumn, but you should put them into storage once winter weather makes an appearance.

2
Wear conservative footwear in the office. Tall, thin heels and strappy styles are usually considered sexy and do not work for professional settings. Closed toes, low heels, flats, and boots are better options.

3
Avoid under-dressing. If you have a versatile outfit, like a little black dress, and you decide to wear it to a reception or other formal event, make sure your shoes can dress it up. Avoid casual shoes, like flats with cutesy embellishments, and opt for more mature shoes, like a black or silver pump.

4
Avoid over-dressing. You must also avoid wearing an overly fancy shoe with a versatile outfit if you plan on wearing it in a casual setting. For instance, if you want to dress down a brown pencil skirt, look for a simple sandal or flat instead of a fancy stilettos.

SOMETHING ABOUT HEELS THAT MAKES A GIRL FEEL ON TOP OF THE WORLD.

Wore these bad boys today and received so many compliments, they are Beautifully crafted, sexy and oh so chic snakeskin booties are adorned with amazing lace details all over. Modern yet sweet,  gives any outfit that extra sass and they are perfect for fall. Every woman needs a pair of high heels, even if she favors sneakers or flats more. There are a number of reasons why women enjoy wearing heels. Some women feel more confident when wearing heels, or like the attention it gets them. Others enjoy how heels flatter their bodies by making them appear more slender. There are many different styles of heels that woman can choose from. These include pumps, stilettos, and wedges. This guide offers five reasons why every woman should have at least one pair of good heels in her closet.

1. High Heels Add Height

It may seem obvious that a pair of heels will add height on to the wearer, but it is the number one reason why women around the world wear high heels. Women may want to add height in a number of different situations. They may want to match their height to a taller date. Petite women especially use high heels to overcome their natural stature. If a petite woman want to feel taller and more confident, all she has to do is throw on a pair of heels and she'll be instantly more statuesque. Since heels vary in height even a woman who is already tall can benefit from heels, even if they are a bit shorter.

2. High Heels Draw Attention

A woman wearing heels definitely draws attention. Men love a woman in heels, and a great pair of heels can also draw compliments from other women. Stylish heels like high stilettos tend to draw the most attention, so stilettos may be the perfect choice if a woman is looking to turn heads. Heels with stunning accents will also draw more attention than plain heels, and exotic heels are an excellent way for a woman to add a focal point to an outfit.

3. High Heels Enhance Confidence

Wearing high heels can make a woman feel more confident. This is due to a number of reasons. For one, high heels enhance almost any outfit. Additionally, high heels can make a woman look more assertive, which in turn makes her feel more confident. As mentioned above, heels draw favorable attention to a woman, her outfit, and personal style. This makes her feel even better about how she looks.

4. High Heels Accentuate Legs

One of the benefits of high heels is that they make a woman's legs look amazing. Wearing high heels changes one's posture and can make a woman's legs look longer and leaner. Not only do wearing high heels give the look of long and sexy legs, but they can also tone a woman's leg muscles. Additionally, they improve the entire look of a woman's body by improving how she carries herself when she stands and walks.

5. High Heels Make One Look Thinner

A notable reason why women like high heels is that they make the wearer appear thinner. This is true with almost any type of outfit, including skinny pants. High heels make one look thinner in part because they force a woman to stand taller. In addition to making one appear thinner, they also tone one's leg muscles.
